The humans and animals who make House of the Wolf feel like home.
Behind the project
Meet the Family
Behind the project is a family made out of humans and animals who live, grow and learn together every day.
Some members of our family are part of the breeding program. Others simply became part of the story through the place they took in our lives, our routines and our hearts.
Together, they are the soul of House of the Wolf.
The Humans
Irina
Founder of House of the Wolf
Dogs have always been part of Irina’s life in one way or another, but over time they slowly became much more than a passion.
After years spent working in web design and creative projects, she eventually chose to build a life centered around what had always felt most meaningful to her: dogs, nature and the relationship between humans and animals. What started with a fascination for wolves and wolf-like dogs gradually evolved into the House of the Wolf project.
Today, she continues to develop the project through hands-on experience, ongoing education and a constant desire to keep learning and improving. She is currently completing the FSIFP DCCE professional canine training program in Switzerland.
Eric
The quiet force behind the project
Eric originally discovered the world of dogs through Irina and quickly became an essential part of life with the pack. Even though he works professionally in IT and doesn’t know much about breeding, he does his part to care for the pack and helps in any way he can.
He also has a very obvious weakness for giant fluffy dogs and would probably adopt an entire herd of Bernese Mountain Dogs if given the opportunity.
The Pack
Jórunn
Jórunn is the kind of dog people notice immediately. Tall, expressive and social, she has a way of making herself the center of attention without even trying.
She was also a very chaotic teenager. Living with her taught us an enormous amount about patience, structure and consistency. Thankfully, maturity eventually arrived — mostly.
Jórunn became the mother of our very first Edelwolf litter and proved to be an exceptional and deeply devoted mother.
Grisha
Grisha came to us from England and immediately brought a very different energy into the family.
Where Jórunn charges into the world headfirst, Grisha prefers to observe quietly from a safe distance before deciding what she thinks about a situation. She is sensitive, thoughtful and deeply attached to the people she trusts.
At home, she is very gentle and affectionate – her favorite pastime being licking the ears of any member of her family.
Vi
Vi is our first homebred girl and one of the most emotional milestones of the entire project.
Affectionate, curious and intensely people-oriented, Vi became known for following her human mom absolutely everywhere. She forms very deep bonds and seems happiest when involved in whatever the family is doing.
She is also convinced that privacy is a completely unnecessary human invention.
Everyday Life
Life at House of the Wolf is built around coexistence rather than separation.
Our dogs live with us as companions first and foremost. They share our space, our quiet evenings, our training sessions, our naps on the sofa, our nights at the bar and all the little moments in between.
Some moments are full of activity and adventures. Others are slow and peaceful, spent binging series and cuddling on the couch. And honestly, those quiet moments are often our favorites.
In Loving Memory
Some companions never truly leave us.
The animals we lose continue to exist in our hearts and the memories we shared.
Though no longer physically beside us, they remain forever part of the story of House of the Wolf.
Niki
2019-2025
Niki was the first dog of our little family. Gentle and endlessly patient, he loved people with his whole heart, more than he liked other dogs.
He was never part of any breeding plans. He was simply our big fluffy boy.
In 2025, we list him far too early to an aggressive tumor. His love and warmth will always remain with us.
Big Ben
2005 – 2012
Big Ben was Irina’s first dog when she was 10 years old.
He may have been small, but his role was essential. One step at a time, he pulled the shy and introverted girl out of her shell. Through him, she found her confidence and discovered the kind of invaluable companionship only a dog can give.
He unfortunately passed away too soon she he tried to win a battle against a car during a hike.
